Heading into the final race weekend of the Skip Barber Summer Series Championship, I sat 7th in the standings. On Saturday, I started the race in 7th. With what was probably the biggest field this season, the race was both close and exciting as my fellow competitors put on a good show. I made some overtakes and ran as high as 4th at one point. I gave it my best effort, but ended the race right where I started, 7th.

On Sunday, everyone had the same idea in mind - finishing the season strong. For the finale, I started the race 9th. On the opening lap, I got shuffled back a few spots and found myself at the tail end of the lead pack. However, I muscled my way through some of the other racers and in the end I finished 6th. I finished the season standings in 7th.

Even though I didn't get one last win this season, my final Skip Barber Race Weekend was something special. I got to hang out with all my best friends, see some old friends, celebrate with the mechanics, and say goodbye to my coaches. This last year spent with Skip Barber has been the most amazing year of my life. Skip Barber has taught me so much, and I can't thank everyone who has been apart of it enough. If there is anyone out there who is looking to move from kart to cars I highly recommend Skip Barber!

It will be weird showing up to the grid in 2016 and not seeing all the familiar faces I have come to know at Barber. However, I am looking forward to the new adventures that are in store with VMB and World Speed Motorsports in the Formula Car Challenge Championship presented by Goodyear. I will have another blog posted shortly on that soon!

Until Next Time!
