Race Weekend Update: Rounds 3 & 4 (Lime Rock Park)

Rounds 3 & 4: Lime Rock Park

Lime Rock Park was another rough weekend. Thankfully, there is still time to recover. It's a long season and my goal of running up front with the leaders on a consistent basis is not over yet.

Round 3 started off with an average qualifying effort. I started the race in 7th position and fell back to 8th on the start. After a few laps, I found myself 6th in the race. Pretty soon I was all by myself. No one was close  in front or behind me and I ended Round 3 in 6th place.

In Round 4, I started 5th. After the first lap, I was in 4th and fighting for a podium. However, things went south really quickly as my car had a nasty vibration.  It continued to get worse and with 17 laps to go, the motor blew and I had to retire the car. Hopefully that will be my only mechanical DNF (did not finish) of the season.

Here are the highlights of the weekend:

Season News

With the first 4 rounds of the season under my belt, I find myself sitting 9th in the standings. Its been a rough start to the season but I appreciate all the support everyone has given me.

Lime Rock is a track that I'm just not comfortable with - it takes more practice sometimes. Back in the winter series, Roebling Road was my least favorite track and there were strong similarities between the two. Take a look at what a lap is like around the track.

Well that the weekend I had at Lime Rock Park. This season has been rough but hopefully I can rebound and be competitive at the next track.

'til next time!
