Just a few days before I head to Road America! I'm very excited to head over there and race on the longest track in North America!
Looking Back: ROUNDS 3 & 4: Lime Rock Park (Lakesville, CT)
Lime Rock was a weekend to forget. In Race 3, I lacked the pace and aggressiveness to run well on tracks like these. Throughout the race I didn't see too many people in front or behind me and I finished 6th. In Race 4, I showed better pace and was running in 4th when my motor blew. Sadly, I received my first DNF of the season. The good news is that I climbed up to 8th in the standings and I will race three times in Wisconsin to make up for my DNF.
Looking Ahead: ROUNDS 5 &6 Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI)
The main goal for Road America is to show pace. Since I finished 5th in standings during the winter, I am locked in to the Skip Barber Championship Shootout. Thus, my goal for the summer is to try to run up front on a more consistent basis. Since I will be racing three times at Road America, I have an extra chance to score a good result and to run up with the leaders.
Since the track is so long, the race will probably be a drafting race. So strategy is key. Luckily, tracks like Sebring, Road Atlanta and Homestead are all drafting tracks. I have the experience and driving style to run well here. It should be very interesting. Thank you all once again for all the support and I hope to do well for you all!
